The Libertines Set Halted At Reading Festival 2010August 30, 2010
The Libertines' set was halted during their appearance at the Reading Festival on Saturday (August 28).
The band were half way into ‘Time For Heroes’ when the main sound system cut out, leaving only the group’s monitor speakers working. Carl Barat, Pete Doherty and John Hassall briefly left the stage, with only drummer Gary Powell remaining to entertain the crowd. But the problem was quickly rectified and the rest of the band returned to complete the set. As with their warm-up gigs in London last week, The Libertines arrived on stage to the sound of Vera Lynn's 'We'll Meet Again'. The performance also followed a similar set, starting with ‘Horrorshow’ and including the tracks ‘Vertigo’, ‘Tell The King’ and ‘What Katie Did’. Both Doherty and Barat spoke rarely to the crowd, expect to which them a good evening. Doherty also warned festival-goers to stop pushing forward before ‘Last Post On The Bugle’. The Libertines ended their set with ‘Up The Bracket’, ‘What A Waster’ and ‘I Get Along’, after which the four band members embraced each other on stage. The Libertines played:
