Carl Barat Discusses New Libertines SongsSeptember 7, 2010
Carl Barat has spoken about recording new material with The Libertines following the band's recent reunion gigs.
The singer, along with Pete Doherty, John Hassall and Gary Powell, played a host of shows in August, including at the Reading and Leeds festivals. Barat told Reuters the reunion was unlikely to mark the start of a bigger tour, but he did confirm plans to record new music. "We will never be a band touring the world," he said. "But we might do more music. That's a possibility..." Barat admitted he wasleft overwhelmed with people's reaction to their performances in August. "There was so much love and excitement,” he said. “Everyone connected as if no time had passed at all.” Meanwhile, Barat is scheduled to release his self-titled debut solo album in October.
