Joaquin Phoenix: 'I Wanted To Quit I'm Still Here'September 30, 2010
Actor Joaquin Phoenix has revealed that there were times when he wanted to quit working on his new movie, I'm Still Here.
The documentary, directed by Casey Affleck, follows Phoenix over a 12-month period as he shuns acting in favour of launching a rap career. Although it has since been revealed to be a hoax, many critics and fans were initially uncertain over whether the actor's decision to turn to music was genuine. In an interview with Extra TV, Phoenix said the public's initial reaction to the concept made him question whether it was right. "To be frank, we were kind of hostage to the process. There were times, honestly, where I wanted out,” he said. “Even on a conventional film, I'm done after four months. But this went on and on." I'm Still Here is out on general release now. The film has received a mixed response from critics. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Joaquin Phoenix I'm Still Here Trailer Debuts (18.08.2010)
