Sigur Ros Announce New Album Release

May 27, 2008
Sigur Ros Announce New Album ReleaseReykjavik's genre-bending Sigur Ros have announced their fifth album is to be released on June 23rd.

The latest effort will be entitled 'Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust'- or 'With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly' for those of us unfamiliar with Icelandic.

'With a Buzz...' was recorded entirely in 2008, and is being released just one month after completion. It follows groundbreaking docu-gig 'Heima' which was released in March.

Fans can pre-order the album on the band's official website from June 2nd, and those eager beavers who have pre-ordered can listen to a full stream on June 9th.

The album's first track, 'Gobbledigook', will be available as a free download on the official website after 7.30pm today (May 27th), and will have its maiden play on Zane Lowe's radio show this evening.

The band drafted in acclaimed UK producer Flood, of U2, Nine Inch Nails and PJ Harvey fame to work on their first album to be recorded outside Iceland, taking in London, New York and Havana.

The album's release coincides with a mammoth world tour beginning on June 5th, when the group will visit 39 cities across four continents, including Suffolk's Latitude Festival on July 19th.
