The Fall's Mark E Smith has hit out at Mumford & Sons after they both performed at a recent festival in Ireland. Smith claimed the band upset him they were doing “terrible” warm-up vocals in a nearby dressing room at the Electric Picnic festival.  Read more 

Phoenix headlined a succesful Field Day on Saturday (July 31), rounding off a day that also saw performances from the likes of Caribou, These New Puritans and Simian Mobile Disco. The festival, which has had various technical problems in the past, passed without incident with the music being the true focus of the day.  Read more 

Friendly Fires and The Fall have been added to the line-up for this summer’s Electric Picnic festival in County Laois. Laurent Gardiner, Eels and Fight Like Apes have also joined the bill for the event, which takes place from September 3-5.  Read more 

The Fall’s Mark E Smith is set to release a song for England’s bid to win this summer’s football World Cup. The track, entitled ‘England's Heartbeat’, was written alongside ex-Fall member Ed Blaney and Jenny Shuttleworth, and will be released under the name Shuttleworth.  Read more
