Information

Public Enemy is an American hip hop group consisting of Chuck D; Flavor Flav; Professor Griff and his S1W group; DJ Lord, who replaced Terminator X in 1999; and bassist Brian Hardgroove. Formed on Long Island, New York in 1982, Public Enemy are known for their politically charged lyrics and criticism of the American media, with an active interest in the frustrations and concerns of the African American community.

Public Enemy's 'Fight The Power' has come top in a survey of the 100 greatest hip-hop songs of all time. The 1989 song beat SugarHill Gang's 'Rapper's Delight' and Dr Dre's 'Nuthin But A G Thang', which came second and third respectively in the VH1 poll.  Read more
