If timings everything
stop telling me you're taking your time
I know you're anxious
But you're running your mouth like you're five
Years old again
It's so hard to pretend
Like I know everything
I dont know anything
I wanted you to see
That I got nothin
I'll sit back and I'll watch the show
I'll lay awake and I'll watch the stars as they collide
My eyes they do see
I don't breathe the way I used to
My lips they don't sing
I won't be the way I was on that night
Steady breathing is all I can advise
To a girl with a sweet tooth for revenge
I know I'm crazy but it's so hard to pretend
Like I know everything
I dont know anything
I wanted you to see
That I got nothin
I'll sit back and I'll watch the show
I'll lay awake and I'll watch the stars as they collide
My eyes they do see
I don't breathe the way I used to
My lips they don't sing
I won't be the way I was on that night
Was the night everbody agreed I was wrong about you
I told them you were being so strong
I knew you were a liar
I knew you were a liar from the start
(x2)
Don't treat me like I'm playing a game
Cause baby I don't want to lose
Baby I don't want to risk it all for you
My eyes they do see
I don't breathe the way I used to
My lips they don't sing
I won't be the way I was on that night

You say we're both little people and you like it that way
But in time I'm gonna put this body to shame (and grow old)
Where a suit like my old man
Pack up all my things and get my ass out of town
We've got it good
Whether you like this town or not
I know it's small but with a big head
it's bound to get hot
In the summer
But the summer is a bummer
If you can't leave
This pathetic excuse for a town
That holds all your memories
A lifetime of crushes and your broken dreams
To be anywhere but here
But baby anywhere is away from me
If you got it all figured out
Then what is there to shout about
This mid-west town is gonna miss you
Just go ahead and work it out
But first come on and let it out
Scream it shout tell everybody how your gonna leave
In about one year you'll have it all figured out
These big city dream are what you're about
Walking like strangers among these states
Only time will tell how long I can wait
We've got it good
Whether you like this town or not
I know it's small but with a big head
it's bound to get hot
In the summer
But the summer is a bummer
If you can't leave
This pathetic excuse for a town
That holds all your memories
A lifetime of crushes and your broken dreams
To be anywhere but here
But baby anywhere is away from me
If you got it all figured out
Then what is there to shout about
This mid-west town is gonna miss you
Just go ahead and work it out
But first come on and let it out
Scream it shout tell everybody how your gonna leave
Me again oh so casually
Did you take the hit for me or the home team
If you got it all figured out
Then what is there to shout about
This mid-west town is gonna miss you

I know that I've been dancing around the truth
Tell me what the hell I'm suppose to do
I'm a little bit aggitated
With a slight scent of denile
(please don't call)
(me again)
I'm calling all the time I know I interupt
It hurts when all I hear is you hanging up
La da da da da da da
I wont try that again
(x2)
La la la la
(x8)
Everybody's going to the party and were having a good time
I'm feeling alright tonight with a better judgement
I'm calling all the time I know I interupt
It hurts when all I hear is you hanging up
La da da da da da da
I wont try that again

I got the concept and came to the conclusion
That the top floor was just an illusion
To the fact that I go this break in my back
That I can't get out; I cant figure out how
You appeared right in front of me
Before your march down south a university
Is where you spend your daylight
But we're both just waiting for this friday night
Although the distance is daring
We both know how to drive
Wo-o
Weekend make-up for the lost time that we both apologie for
I cant stand the fact that this extremity is the center of my day
I see where your coming from
We've been on the same boat since day one
I see how you like to run
Back to the things that got you here
Although the distance is daring
We both know how to drive
Wo-o
Weekend make-up for the lost time that we both apologie for
I cant stand the fact that this extremity is the center of my day
Mondays I sleep away
Tuesdays I lay awake
Wednesdays are the worst
Thursdays I reminice
Fridays I see your face
And I can breathe

i've been packin' my bags
i'll be headin' down south
by the time graduation rolls around
where the weather is warmer
and the people are fresh
i'll be ponderin' life,
doin' my time on the road
pedal to the metal in my 1999 ford
and all my life in one place
i've done my time but i've lost the race
i've been workin' my ass off
trying to find the part of me
my friends all miss
but honestly..
i'm kinda fed up with
all this advice,
but never a sign..
should i stay?
or should i go away?
all to find
the better half of me
i've got this spare change
i'll be sendin' souvenirs
to all my friends up north
where the weather is cooler
and the people are dull
i'll be ponderin' life,
doing my time on the road
pedal to the metal in my 1999 ford
and all my life in one place
i've done my time but i've lost the race
i've been workin' my ass off
trying to find the part of me
my friends all miss
but honestly..
i'm kinda fed up with
all this advice,
but never a sign..
should i stay?
or should i go away?
all to find
the better half of me

I'm sorry for the nights I let you down
Now all that's left to see is that I turned around
Back to the boy you fell in love with
Not this prick that brings you down
remind your mom to call me I still care
cause her approval ment the world
and i will not dare to disagree
With the life you arrange
Just remember only god knows if I change
I'll sing along to every song
I type a lie for the ride
cause it would have,
I would write there to
through the good times
the bad ones too
I'm here for you
cause it might change
you're the one who keeps me asleep
on the nights where I can care less
if I ever woke up again
