Ex-Paramore Josh Farro Launches New Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World Inspired Band

February 2, 2011
Ex-Paramore Josh Farro Launches New Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World Inspired BandFormer Paramore star Josh Farro has formed a new band called American Novel.

Farro said the group consists of three other musicians he first met in high school and that they came together again after he quit the group last year.

"We want to be a new breath of fresh air to the music scene,” Farro told MTV News. “We all love Jimmy Eat World, so it's hard not to sound like them, but there's a little of everything in there.

“We're huge fans of Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Explosions in the Sky ... there's everything in there, really."

Farro added that his wife had come up with the name, and that they planned to record an EP and “play some shows around town” in the coming months.

Farro and his brother Zac quit Paramore in December, but the Hayley Williams-fronted group has vowed to continue.
