Amy Winehouse Says She 'Had Nothing To Live For'June 27, 2008
Amy Winehouse has admitted that her life has reached a “low ebb” following her husband's imprisonment last year.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer said that her problems with narcotics stemmed from “boredom” and that, at times, she felt like “there was nothing to live for”. Winehouse' husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, recently pleaded guilty to assaulting a pub landlord and then trying to cover the incident up. Fielder-Civil, who will be sentenced in July, faces upwards of five years in prison. In the interview, which came before Winehouse was rushed into hospital last week, the singer said that all her problems stemmed from her detachment from her husband. "To be honest, my husband's away, I'm bored, I'm young. I felt like there was nothing to live for. It's just been a low ebb,” she said. The singer also said that she felt like she had never needed to complete a course of rehab. "I've never been to rehab, I mean, done it properly. I'm young, and I'm in love, and I get my nuts off sometimes. But it's never been like, 'Amy, get your life together',” she said. Winehouse is due to perform at the Nelson Mandela concert in London later today. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Amy Winehouse Too Busy Working On New Album To Party (29.03.2011)
