Dame Shirley Bassey Undergoes Emergency OperationMay 27, 2008
 Dame Shirley Bassey has undergone an emergency on her stomach at a hospital in Monaco.
The veteran singer was admitted to the hospital in the middle of the night last week suffering from abdominal pains. Dame Shirley is “making a good recovery and doctors are happy with her progress,” her spokesman Paul Carey told the BBC. The singer, who performed at the Glastonbury Festival last summer, is perhaps most famous for her contribution to James Bon themes. Dame Shirley is expected to recover in time for her scheduled appearance at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in London on June 27th.
