Amy Winehouse Will Not Face Drugs Action Following Police QuestioningMay 14, 2008
Amy Winehouse will face no further action over a video which supposedly showed her smoking crack cocaine.
The singer questioned earlier this month after voluntarily attending a police station in East London. The arrest was in connection with a video that was passed to the Metropolitan Police in January. "The Crown Prosecution Service has now reviewed the case and no further action is being taken,” a police spokesperson said. In response, Winehouse’s spokesman said that the singer was “pleased to be able to move on.” "She particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly-awaited festival performances this summer." In January, The Sun published a video of the singing which appeared to show her taking drugs at her second home in East London. Last month, Winehouse was cautioned by Police after she admitted to slapping a man with an open hand following a night out in the Camden area of London. As previously reported, Winehouse invited Pete Doherty to her Camden house last night to celebrate his prison gig at The Forum.
