Duffy: 'Amy Winehouse Reminds Us It's OK To Be Human'April 3, 2008
Chart conquering daughter of Wales, Duffy, has said that troubled music stars like Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty and Britney Spears can have a positive effect on others.
The singer believes that despite their personal woes, the fact that these people have a vulnerability can make people feel grounded. She said: “In a really weird way, I think those kind of people show others it’s all right to be human – for all their faults.” In the interview with Clash Magazine, Duffy continued that there is no chance of her following similar, drug-addled avenues. “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, so don’t say I’m some kind of clean-slate, virginal angel. But I’ve not got any issues right now, which is good,” she said. Speaking about her escalation to the top, she added: “It was a slow process but as soon as the doors were open it went mental. “I mean, I get chased by people on motorbikes and things. It’s not something that anyone can really prepare you for.” (by Scott Colothan) See also: Duffy Definiant As Comeback Single Flops (29.11.2010)
