Fall Out Boy Still Set On World Record BidMarch 31, 2008
Emo scenesters Fall Out Boy have pledged to enter the Guinness Book of Records despite last week’s cancellation of their ambitious seven continents-in-a-day attempt.
Disillusioned guitarist Pete Wentz had described the cancellation as an "utter fucking disappointment". However, four days after the tour was cancelled due to bad weather, a far more resolute feeling in the camp has ensued. This has been epitomised by drummer Andy Hurley who told MTV: “We’re going to make this happen. We got so close, and I'm not the kind of person who'd bail on this. I like the adventure of doing something crazy, and this new plan is super crazy. On Thursday, Fall Out Boy were forced to admit defeat on their world record attempt as weather conditions refused to improve, leaving the band stranded in Chile. This was a particularly bitter pill to swallow for infamous bassist Peter Wentz who told MTV: “It's the worst feeling I've felt in Fall Out Boy”. Fans can rest assured as despite Wentz’s initial disappointment last week, the emo rockers are raising the cachet of their next record attempt with Huxley adding: “It's going to be much bigger. But it's definitely going to happen. We're just gonna do it." (by Patrick Smith) See also: Pete Wentz And Ashlee Simpson To Divorce (10.02.2011)
