Lady Gaga is to release her Country Road version of recent hit 'Born This Way' as a charity single.

The new version of the track, which debuted online last month, will be available for download from April 5 in the US and April 6 in the UK.

A portion of proceeds from the song will benefit the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

The organisation was founded in 1990 and aims to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

'Born This Way' is the lead single from Lady Gaga's forthcoming album of the same name, due to be released in May. The singer is currently on her US tour.
