Katy Perry and Linkin Park will perform a special outdoor gigs as part of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in Madrid, it's been announced.

Both acts will play one song each at the historic Puerta de Alcalá during the ceremony on Sunday (November 7).

Tens of thousands of music fans are expected to gather at the Alcalá Gate for the performances.

The 17th annual EMAs take place at Caja Magica and will be hosted by Hollywood actress

Shakira, Dizzee Rascal, Kings Of Leon, Miley Cyrus, B.o.B and Haley Williams will also perform at the ceremony.

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both have four nominations, including nods for Best Pop, Best Female and Best Song. Bon Jovi will collect the inaugural Global Icon honour.
