Iron Maiden are set to headline next year's Roskilde festival, it's been announced.

The heavy metal band will perform at the festival in Denmark as part of their The Final Frontier world tour.

Iron Maiden last performed at the event in 2003. Next year's festival takes place from June 30 - July 3 2011.

“Roskilde Festival has always been very special for Iron Maiden,” Iron Maiden's Steve Harris said. “There’s an amazing atmosphere about the place and the crowd are real party animals.”

A select number of early bird tickets for Roskilde go on sale on December 1.
