R&B newcomer Iyaz is number one in the singles chart this week after selling 106,000 copies of his single 'Replay'. The 22-year-old from the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean last month hit number two in the US with the song. 
Radiohead's Phil Selway, Stewart Copeland of The Police and Pink Floyd's Nick Mason are amongst the drummers pledging their support to a campaign calling for peace inSudan. The campaign, Sudan365, is urging world leaders to pull out the stops in the next 365 days to prevent war from returning to the African nation. 
G-Unit's Lloyd Banks has been arrested on robbery and assault charges in Canada. The 27-year-old rapper and three associates are being held by police in Kitchener, Ontario on suspicion of attacking a local promoter on Friday night (January 8). 
Slayer have been forced to postpone their March UK tour due to bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's ongoing back injury. As well as the UK shows, the heavy metal titans have also axed their American and Canadian Carnage Tour dates this month as well as European shows in April. 
La Roux's Elly Jackson says the duo are ready to take “a gamble” and embrace disco music on their second album. The quiffed singer also reckons the LP will be less commercial than their hugely successful eponymous debut. 
Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has split with his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger. The pair, who got together shortly after meeting at MTV Europe Awards in Munich in November 2007, released a joint statement saying they want to put their careers first. 
Music DVDs by Motley Crue, Slipknot and Gorgoroth could be prohibited for children under proposals by a Labour MP. Currently many DVDs in the fields of music, sport and religion are exempt from classification in the UK meaning that potentially adult material can be bought and freely watched by youngsters. 
MTV is in trouble with Ofcom after they aired a swear word by Lady Gaga at the Isle of MTV music festival last year before the watershed. The broadcasting watchdog – full name Office of Communications – received just one complaint when Gaga's expletive was aired at 4pm on November 2, 2009, however, this was enough to land MTV in the brown stuff. 
M.I.A. has described the follow-up to 2008's acclaimed 'Kala' as “really odd.” The star - full name Maya Arulpragasam – says she plans to release the record in the spring and claims it is “gimmick” free. 
Slash has revealed that the original line-up of Guns N' Roses were offered over $100million to reform. Despite the bonanza money offer, the legendary guitarist – real name Saul Hudson – says he will never reunite with Axl Rose and co. 
Ellie Goulding, Marina & The Diamonds and Hadouken! are amongst the names confirmed for a new urban festival in London next month. The inaugural Next Big Thing festival takes place over ten days - from February 5th to the 14th - in the capital across various venues. 
Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Blink-182's Mark Hoppus have joined forces to write a song for the Alice In Wonderland soundtrack. The duo's track for much anticipated Tim Burton remake, starring Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, is described by Wentz as being different to either of their bands' output. 
Former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating has reignited his attack on “incredibly rude” Radiohead singer Thom Yorke saying he'll “never forgive him.” Back in 2008 Keating bumped into Yorke at Dublin's Clarence Hotel, owned by Bono and The Edge, where he alleges Yorke was discourteous.
