Thom Yorke has hit out at the UK government's decision to approve 10 sites in England and Wales for nuclear power stations to be built. Yesterday, Energy Secretary Ed Milliband claimed that nuclear energy was a “proven and reliable” energy source and that planning permission on the 10 sites would be decided “within the year”. 
Chart-topping UK rapper Chipmunk has sparked fears for his health after writing suicide threats on Twitter. His his official Twitter page @chipmunkArtist, the 18-year-old wrote on Saturday “I wanna die”. 
Rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures are streaming their self titled album online ahead of its release next week. The group consists of Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones. Following the albums release the band will tour the UK. 
Arcade Fire member Richard Parry has revealed that the band are recording new material. Speaking to The Quietus, Parry said, “I am in New York doing some recording in a studio - Arcade Fire stuff... recording some strings for some new songs. Just some songs." 
Justin Timberlake has been granted a permanent restraining order against a woman whom he accused of stalking him. The singer said Karen McNeil, 28, was “obsessed and mentally unstable” and had repeatedly trespassed onto his Los Angeles home. 
Tori Amos has announced details of an ultra-intimate free gig in London next month. The singer will play a stripped back show of just herself and her piano at the Jazz Cafe in Camden on December 2. 
White Lies have cancelled a week of European tour dates after singer Harry McVeigh lost his voice. In a statement issued the band said, “We apologise to fans expecting White Lies shows in Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland this week. Unfortunately we're having to postpone these dates due to illness.” 
Robbie Williams new album 'Video Killed The Radio Star' looks set to hit the number one spot this weekend although it will be a close fought battle with X Factor runners-up JLS. Midweek charts initially indicated that JLS were ahead but due to a registration technicality a number of Williams sales had not been counted. With the 'lost' sales now accounted for Williams in in pole position for this weekends crown. 
Sex Pistols' John Lydon has muscled into the debate that's currently shaking the pop world to the core - should John and Edward have been voted out of the X Factor?! Seemingly desperate for publicity, the 53-year-old singer, who recently reformed Public Image Ltd, reckons the twins should have been voted off by Simon Cowell last Saturday as they can't sing. 
Fall Out Boy and Lenny Kravitz will both make guest appearances on Lil' Wayne's new album 'Rebirth'. The long-awaited effort, which was originally scheduled to come out in April, is now due to be released on December 15. 
Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' has been knocked of the top of the box office after just one week. The film, which depicts Michael Jackson's rehearsals in his final days, was displaced by Disney's 'A Christmas Carol' starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge. 
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz says the band will no longer play their cover of Michael Jackson's 'Beat It' live. The song, which is included on the group's forthcoming greatest hits album, had become a staple in their stage show. 
Rammstein's new album 'Liebe Ist Für Alle Da' has been deemed as “harmful” to young people and can no longer appear on public display in some shops in Germany. Citing Section 18 of the Youth Protection Act, The Office for the Examination of Media Harmful in the band's native country put the ruling into effect from tomorrow (November 11). 
Hot Chip have revealed that their new album will be entitled 'One Life Stand'. The dance group's follow-up to 2007's 'Made In The Dark' is due out on February 8, 2010.
