Black Eyed Peas have topped the UK singles chart with 'I Gotta Feeling', matching their same accomplishment in the US. The song, which is the second single from the hip-hop group's new album 'The END', climbed from number three last week. 
Garage rock band Black Lips are set to collaborate with Horrors frontman Faris Rotter on a forthcoming single.
The single package is set to include the single 'Drugs' from Black Lips' latest album '200 Million Thousand' and a cover of their previous single 'I'll Be With You' by Rotter and Cherish Kaya. 
Kanye West has denied reports that he claimed in the aftermath of the death of Michael Jackson that he was the new “King of Pop”. It had been reported that West supposedly saw himself as the new pop superstar for the 21st century following on from the legacies of Elvis and Michael Jackson. 
Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has stated that the band will return in October to start on a new album. Smith told Billboard that they were planning to return after a two year break, but had yet to decide on a producer for their new album. 
London band Bombay Bicycle Club have announced plans to tour the UK throughout September and October. Kicking off in Brighton on the September 24, the band are set to play twelve dates in total. 
Michael Jackson wanted to appear as Spider-Man in a new movie about the superhero, it has emerged. Spider-Man creator Stan Lee said he and Jackson, who died in June, had held talks at the star's former Neverland home about the project. 
Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine, has claimed her late son did not just die of natural causes. Katherine voiced her suspicion during an interview on Fox News' Geraldo at Large on Sunday (August 2). 
Coldplay and Jay-Z both paid tribute to the Beastie Boys and Michael Jackson during their headline slots at the All Points West festival in New Jersey. Beastie Boys had been due to headline the festival last weekend, but were forced to pull out after member Adam Yauch was diagnosed with cancer.
