Queen guitarist Brian May has launched what he has called a “rescue operation” to save the struggling digital radio station, Planet Rock. The station, which is part of the GCap Media group, faces closure at the end of the month if it can’t find a buyer. 
Kylie Minogue was almost forced to postpone the opening night of her world tour because of technical problems and ill health, it’s been reported. The singer, who kicked off her X2008 tour in Paris on Tuesday (May 6th), was struck down with a throat infection last week. 
A number of tracks from the highly anticipated new Weezer album have appeared online over a month before it’s due to be released. ‘Troublemaker’, ‘The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations on a Shaker Hymn)’ and ‘Pork and Beans’, are amongst eight songs which are circulating across the internet. 
The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard has admitted that the band found it hard to break into the American market initially. “It took ages for us to get a record deal out there because Virgin US just like sort of turned their nose up at it,” he said. 
US rapper DMX has been arrested (May 6th) after he was caught driving at speeds upwards of 114mph along a freeway in Phoenix. The rapper, whose real name is Earls Simmons, was taken into custody at his home in Arizona on Tuesday (May 6th). 
Madonna will play Wembley Stadium in London this summer as part of her Sweet & Sticky world tour. The European leg of the tour, which is in support of her new album ‘Hard Candy’, will begin at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on August 23rd. 
Beck has confirmed that he will release a new as-yet-untitled album this summer. The 10-track album, which has been produced by Danger Mouse, was recorded last December. 
Amy Winehouse has been released on bail after being arrested over alleged drug offences. The singer was questioned by officers yesterday (May 7th) after voluntarily attending a police station in East London. 
US rapper P Diddy has praised actor Jamal ‘Gravy’ Woolard, who plays Notorious B.I.G. in forthcoming movie about the late rapper. P Diddy, whose real name is Sean Coombs, said he finds Woolard’s portrayal of the hip-hop legend “eerie”.
