Morrissey went to watch Lady Gaga at her recent gig in Manchester, it has emerged.

The two musicians met backstage before the concert the the MEN Arena on June 3.

In a photo obtained by Gigwise, Lady Gaga and Justin Tranter - a member of her support act Semi Precious Weapons - can be seen embracing Morrissey.

Lady Gaga is known to be a fan of Morrissey's former band The Smiths, and also named the star as her Man of the Year for GQ in 2009.

In a recent interview, the US star also described Morrissey as her "favourite celebrity with style".

The concert earlier this month former part of Lady Gaga's Monster Ball world tour.
