Plan B Announces One-Off London ShowJanuary 6, 2010
Currently ruling the airwaves with his single 'Stay To Long', Plan B is set to play an intimate, one-off show in London later this month.
The 26-year-old rapper – real name Ben Drew – will showcase his second album 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' at the special Café De Paris gig on January 20. In keeping with the concept of the record – which tells the story of sharp-suited soul singer Strickland Banks who ends up in jail for a crime he didn't commit – the show will have a 'Soul Train meets a Quadraphenia' theme. Plan B said: “This guy Strickland Banks is obsessed with the 60s and dresses like he’s a Motown star, so if I came on stage wearing a hood it would confuse people. When I come on stage as Strickland Banks I am going to be suited and booted. “Every motherfucker in my band is going to be wearing trilbies. This is like a film man. It’s all entertainment.” (by Scott Colothan) See also: Ivor Novello Awards 2011: Nominations List (19.04.2011)
