Guns N' Roses Face 1million Dollar Lawsuit 'For Copying Ulrich Schnauss Songs'October 6, 2009
Guns N' Roses are being sued for $1million by two separate record labels for copying songs which went on to appear on their last album 'Chinese Democracy'.
British imprint Independiente and the US branch of Domino Records are suing Guns N' Roses and Universal Music Group's Interscope-Geffen A&M label for copying portions of two songs by German electronic artist Ulrich Schnauss. The lawsuit, filed last Friday, claims that Schnauss' tracks 'A Strangely Isolated Place' and 'Wherever You Are' were deliberately copied on the song 'Riad N' the Bedouins'. The much-delayed 'Chinese Democracy', Axl Rose and co.'s first album in 17 years, was released last November to critical indifference.
