Jay-Z Defies Fire Alarm To Play Unforgettable Secret New York Show

September 10, 2009
Jay-Z Defies Fire Alarm To Play Unforgettable Secret New York ShowJay-Z defied a fire alarm to play an extended secret show in New York last night (September 9).

The rapper was forced off stage during a rendition of 'You, Me, Him and Her' when the fire alarm went off at The Gramercy Theatre.

But, according to Rolling Stone, Jay-Z returned after five minutes to play a full 75 minute gig, despite only originally being scheduled to perform for 45 minutes.

The secret concert coincided with the release of the rapper's new album 'The Blueprint 3'.

Jay-Z played a host of songs from the record, including 'Venus Vs Mars' and 'Hate', alongside classics such as '99 Problems' and 'H to the Izzo'.

The rapper, who is due to play Madison Square Garden in New York tomorrow (September 11), thanked his fans after the show “for all the love”.

'The Blueprint 3' is the final part of Jay-Z's 'Blueprint' album trilogy, which began in 2001.

As previously reported, Jay-Z will support Coldplay on the band's UK tour next week.
