Kings Of Leon Score Number One After BRITS TriumphFebruary 23, 2009
King Of Leon's 'Only By The Night' has returned to the top of the UK album charts following the band's success at the recent BRIT Awards.
The American four-piece, who took home two prizes, including Best International Group, also saw their single 'Use Somebody' climb to number three on the singles chart. They were one of a number of acts who saw sales boosted by the awards ceremony, which took place in London last week. Duffy's 'Rockferry' rose 15 places to number three, while sales of The Ting Tings' 'We Started Nothing' were up by 80%, which saw the album chart at number eight. The Pet Shop Boys, who won the Outstanding Contribution prize, and Elbow, winners of Best Album, also enjoyed a sales increase. Last week's number one Lily Allen fell one place to two with 'It's Not Me, It's You', although the singer held onto the top spot on the singles chart. Other new entries this week came from The Prodigy, Miley Cyrus and American sensation Taylor Swift. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Kings Of Leon 'Excited' For Talihina Sky Premiere (21.04.2011)
