Robbie Williams' Life In Britain 'Was Like Alcatraz'January 27, 2009
Robbie Williams' sister has revealed that the singer found living in Britain like being in Alcatraz.
Williams left the UK for Los Angeles five years ago to escape constant press attention, but he is now understood to be returning to the country to revive his pop career. Sally Williams said her brother's lifestyle before moved to America had become so “high-profile” that he was unable to get “any peace”. “He was living in London and resorted to buying a flat on the 15th floor. It was like Alcatraz,” she told The Sun newspaper. Williams is understood to be moving into a new home in Wiltshire ahead of the release of his new album. The singer's manager revealed yesterday that Williams intended to focus on his solo career, despite reports linking him to a reunion with former band Take That.
