Unreleased Arcade Fire Track Set For Charity CompilationDecember 3, 2008
An unreleased song by Arcade Fire is one of a host of tracks set to feature on a new charity compilation.
The 32-track album, entitled 'Dark Was The Night', has been curated by The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner. Released on February 16th, the album also includes songs by Conor Oberst, Bon Iver and Cat Power and Dirty Delta Blues. Arcade Fire's track, 'When Lenin Was Little', was originally record during sessions for their debut album 'Funeral'. All proceeds from the record, which will be available on double CD, triple LP and digital download, will go to the AIDS charity, Red Hot Organisation. "Red Hot was founded on the premise that even without a cure, AIDS remains a preventable disease – and music is a great vehicle to raise money and awareness for it," the charity said.
