Jarvis Cocker has said he hopes to give lectures and host discos on his forthcoming UK tour.

Cocker is due to embark on a five date mini-tour in Sheffield on November 25th.

The former Pulp frontman told BBC 6 Music that he would also use the gigs to showcase songs from his forthcoming second solo album.

"I did a couple of lectures. I'm going to try and bring a bit of that into the concert maybe, in between songs. Whether it'll work or not, I don't know," he said.

"I've also got this idea that maybe we could in some ways try and morph the concert into a disco at the end. I'm looking into ways I could do that.

"I think it would be nice if I could blend these areas of interest that I've got. It could be an absolute disaster, I don't know. We're going to do a few tests and see if it's at all possible."

Cocker has already hosted two lectures in Brighton and Manchester this year on the function of lyrics in popular song.

Both lectures saw Cocker explore some of his favourite lyrics by himself and other artists.
