You Say Party! We Say Die! Star Devon Clifford Dies Aged 30

You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer Devon Clifford has died. He was 30.

Clifford collapsed during the band’s performance at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver on Friday (April 16).

He underwent emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage, but died in hospital on Sunday (April 18).

In a statement, Clifford’s family said he was “an extremely gifted drummer and determined character”.

“He loved his family, loved his band, loved traveling, loved being on stage and loved meeting people around the world,” the statement continued.

“He was smart, witty, passionate, and music meant everything to him.”

The family also thanked the band’s fans for their wishes, and said they would like to “remind young people to have the courage to follow their dreams like Devon did”.

In a message on Twitter, his bandmates wrote: "DEVON CLIFFORD 1979 - 2010 R.I.P."
