Weezer To Echo Radiohead And Nine Inch Nails On Future ReleasesJune 3, 2008
Weezer have revealed that they plan to release their future material along the lines of recent releases from Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails.
Both bands released their latest albums as downloads where fans could choose what price they paid for the record. In Radiohead’s case, people could download ‘In Rainbows’ from anything from free to £100. Speaking to the BBC, bassist Scott Shriner said they “really respect Radiohead and [Nine Inch Nails frontman] Trent Reznor for putting their own music on their own websites and releasing it on their terms." "I think it's great that I can go to Nine Inch Nails' website and download the album for free. "Our plan is to do the same where we can release our own music, sometime in the future." Weezer release their self-titled new album on June 16th. It will be followed by the album’s first single ‘Pork and Beans’, which is out on June 23rd.
