Simon Cowell Haiti Single Outselling Rest Of Top-10 By Two To OneFebruary 11, 2010
Simon Cowell's charity single for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti is outselling the rest of the UK top-10 by two to one.
The song, a cover of 'Everyody Hurts' by R.E.M., has sold more than 300,000 copies in just four days. On Tuesday, the Official Charts Company said the track was already the fastest-selling charity single of the century. It has replaced another Simon Cowell-organised charity song – 'Hero' by the X Factor finalists. Oganised in the wake of last month's earthquake, 'Everybody Hurts' features an all-star line up of vocalists including Mariah Carey, JLS, Robbie Williams and Take That. At least £1 from every CD and 50p from every download will go to The Sun's Helping Haiti fund and the official Disasters Emergency Committee. More than 200,000 people were killed in the earthquake on January 12. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Simon Cowell's Haiti Charity Single Storms UK Charts (15.02.2010)
