U2 To Kick Off 'Credit Crunch Friendly' Tour In Early SummerFebruary 27, 2009
U2 frontman Bono has revealed the band will return to the road in “early summer”.
The Irish group, who release new album 'No Line On The Horizon' on Monday (March 2nd), are working on creating intimate concerts in outdoor venues. Bono also said that they were hoping to offer fans cheaper ticket because of the current recession. "We've got something very special planned, something we've been working on for many years, a whole way of trying to do shows outdoors and make them very intimate,” Bono told the BBC. "We're trying to work on some cheaper ticket prices because this is the recession.” He jokingly added: “We're also going to have some very expensive ticket prices because rich people have feelings too.” As previously reported, U2's guitarist The Edge has spoken out about the recent leak of their new album. He said the album's emergence online, a result of U2's label accidentally releasing it early in Australia, had been unfortunate.
