Franz Ferdinand Play Secret Acoustic GigOctober 19, 2009
Franz Ferdinand surprised fans in Manchester on Saturday by playing an impromptu show in the city's Ruby Lounge Venue.
The show took place as part of Inspiral Carpets member and local hero Clint Boon's Tea Party which he runs along with his wife. Franz Ferdinand members Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy then shocked those gathered by appearing on stage and playing a six song set. Playing hits from across all three of their albums the duo performed songs such as 'Do You Want To' and 'Take Me Out' before ending with recent single 'Ulysses'. Speaking to NME.COM Kapranos said, “I loved it, what a fantastic atmosphere. It reminded me of a matinee gig we did a few years ago at Barrowlands in Glasgow were adults were only allowed in if they were accompanied by a child, it was a similar vibe.” (by David Renshaw) See also: Franz Ferdinand Launch Fashion Collection (20.01.2011)
