Michael Jackson Denies Full Jackson 5 Reunion ClaimsOctober 31, 2008
Michael Jackson has denied that he will be part of a Jackson 5 reunion which is scheduled to take place next year.
On Thursday, Jackson's brother, Jermaine, said the group, including Michael, planned to tour again with support coming from their sister, Janet. However, in a statement, Jackson said he had “no plans to record or tour” with his brothers and sister. "My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," he said. Instead, Jackson, who turned 50 this year, said he was busy in the studio working on “new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon." Jermaine claimed in an interview with the Australian Associated Press that the five-piece were also in the studio working on material. Despite persistent calls to reform, Jackson has always distanced himself from rejoining the Jackson 5, preferring to focus on his own career. The singer is expected to release a new studio album, which features production from Ne-Yo and Will.I.Am, next year.
