50 Cent Sued For Copyright InfringementDecember 17, 2010
An Atlanta rapper has sued 50 Cent for copyright infringement.
Tyrone Simmons, who performs under the name Caliber, claims to have bought the exclusive rights to the instrumental beat used on 50 Cent’s 2007 hit ‘I Get Money’. The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Brooklyn this week, also names the song’s producer and other music industry companies, reports the Associate Press. Simmons is seeking damages and claims his rights have been infringed. A spokesperson for 50 Cent declined to comment on the lawsuit.
