The Who To Be Honoured At Special EventMarch 26, 2008
A celebration of the work of The Who will take place at this year’s VH1 Rock Honours event in Los Angeles, organisers have announced.
The mod icons will be the only act to be honoured at the 2008 ceremony, following in the footsteps of Heart, ZZ Top and Ozzy Osbourne. Band members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are scheduled to perform at the July 12th event, alongside other acts who will pay tribute to the work of the prolific act. The Who formed in 1964 and quickly gained a reputation for their apocalyptic live performances. They had a series of top ten hit singles (including the celebrated "My Generation") and top five albums, beginning in 1965 with "I Can't Explain", before officially disbanding in 1983.
