Fans Launch Stereophonics' Stuart Cable Facebook Campaign

June 10, 2010
Fans Launch Stereophonics' Stuart Cable Facebook CampaignA Stereophonics fan has launched a Facebook campaign to get the band’s hit ‘Local Boy In A Photograph’ to number one.

Russ Burt started the group in tribute to former drummer Stuart Cable, who died on Monday at the age of 40.

Cable was found dead at his home in Aberdare, South Wales.

The campaign, which has already attracted more than 16,000 members, is urging people to download the single for this week’s chart.

The song, originally released in 1997, will need around 30,000 downloads to top the singles countdown.

As previously reported, Cable's cause of death has been postponed pending the results of toxicology tests, which could take up to six weeks.
