Jack White Reveals Plans To Release Solo AlbumJanuary 8, 2010
Jack White is considering working on a debut solo album this year - but only if he's not working on new material with his other bands.
The White Stripes, Raconteurs and Dead Weather star confirmed to Rolling Stone magazine that he will “eventually” release a record on his own and he liked the idea of working solo. Asked by the magazine whether has any plans to go solo, the 34-year-old said: "Eventually, yeah, for sure." Quizzed as to whether he would play the instruments himself, he added: "I've never done that. I thought about that. That might be the challenge - to differentiate from anything else that I've done." However, he warned that fans shouldn't hold their breath for the record in 2010. "It would be a mistake for me to premeditate anything, even in the next six months, to say what I'm going to do, he explained. "I honestly could be working on a White Stripes record in the next two weeks. I have no idea if that is going to happen. And the same with The Dead Weather. I'd rather live like this without a calendar in front of me." (by Scott Colothan) See also: The White Stripes To Release Final Gig As Live Album (11.04.2011)
