Robert Pattinson: Simon Cowell Could Never Launch My Music Career

October 25, 2010
Robert Pattinson: Simon Cowell Could Never Launch My Music CareerTwilight star Robert Pattinson has said Simon Cowell wouldn't be able to help launch his music career.

In January, tabloid reports claimed the X Factor mogul wanted to sign the 24-year-old actor to exploit his interest in music.

But Pattinson said he was too “selfish” with his songs and claimed they wouldn't have commercial appeal.

"I love Simon, I think he is a great personality and I think his shows are entertaining,” he told The Sun.

"He is a clever guy and he created artists that he knows the public will like, that's why I don't think he could ever launch my music career.”

Pattinson added that if his music ever did become successful, it would probably be after he had died.

"I am sure I'll be one of those artists that people don't pay any attention to while I'm alive, and when I am dead people will go yeah, man, that was a work of art,” he added.

The British star is currently filming the final installment of the Twilight Saga, entitled Breaking Dawn.
