Nick Valensi: The Strokes Still Battling 'Hostility And Resentment'January 27, 2011
The Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi has said the group are still battling “undertones of hostility and resentment”.
The New York band are due to release their first album in five years, 'Angles', in March. In an interview with MySpace Music, Valensi said he was looking forward to the group's return, but admitted there was still friction within the band. “The mood was and continues to be light and fun and playful, with mild undertones of hostility and resentment which is just the way of this band,” he said. “When we hang out and when we work on stuff, it’s great but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t elements of hostility there. Undertones of hostility and resentment.” 'Angles' is the follow-up to 2006's 'First Impressions Of Earth' and will be preceded by the single ‘Under Cover Of Darkness’, which has yet to be given a release date.
