The Strokes Delay New Album Until March 2011July 5, 2010
The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has said that the band's next album won't be released until March 2011.
The follow-up to 2006's 'First Impressions Of Earth' was expected next January, but the singer has revealed that it is still only “half-way done”. “We wanted to do it for months, or maybe a year now,” Casablancas told BBC 6 Music. “And we keep thinking, 'OK, we'll do it, for like these three weeks and then we'll be done.' And then we do it and we decide that we're not done, or something comes in the way.” The Strokes got back together last month to play the Isle of Wight festival and Rockness in Scotland. But Casablancas, who is currently touring his debut solo album, was uncertain about whether the band will play more UK dates. “I don't know,” he said. “Whatever people want I will be happy to respect their demands.” (by Jason Gregory) See also: The Strokes Joined By Elvis Costello At New York Gig (02.04.2011)
