The Strokes Delay New Album Until 2011May 10, 2010
The Strokes singer Julian Casablancas has said the band’s new album won’t be released until 2011.
The band’s follow-up to 2006’s ‘First Impressions Of Earth’ had originally been scheduled to arrive in September. But in an interview with Clash, Casablancas said the project was taking longer than expected. He said: "I think January [it'll be out]. I was told not to predict anymore. But I'm pretty sure it should be out in January.” However, Casablancas also hinted that relations within the group, who are due to tour this summer, were still unsteady. "We'll see, it's like 'to be continued',” he said. “We'll see if things are okay with the band when we're on tour. "When we're not on tour, everyone's super nice and chilled and it's all great. It's just when you go on tour that things get weird." The Strokes are set to headline Rockness in Scotland and the Isle of Wight festival next month.
