The Streets' Mike Skinner Has House RepossessedAugust 14, 2008
The Streets Mike Skinner tricked his fans yesterday by claiming his house had been repossessed - before revealing it was the plot for his new video.
In a post on his Myspace page, Skinner said that seven men had broken down his front door after he had failed to keep up with the repayments on his house. “They told me I had 5 minutes to get my things and leave. The house was now the property of the bank,” he wrote. “I ended up on the street with my girlfriend and child. My whole life was forcefully shunted into the back of a van.” Skinner's words were greeted by shocked messages from fans, with one writing: “If you think I can help in any way - just say what you need.” But many had clearly not read the full blog, which ended with Skinner saying: “You'll get to see the whole video when it drops soon...” The Streets release their new album 'Everything is Borrowed' in October, which is preceded by the single, 'The Escapist'.
