Los Campesinos!: 'We're Backing Joe McElderry, Not Rage Against The Machine'Twee indie types Los Campesinos are bucking the trend and have given their backing to X Factor's Joe McElderry in the Christmas chart race.

Writing on Twitter last night, they said: “FYI: Los Campesinos! are officially backing Joe McElderry and the X Factor for Christmas #1. Come on my son!”

This morning, they added: “Just off to HMV to buy the debut single of The People's Choice, 'Pop Sensation' Joe McElderry.”

Hopefully with their tongues firmly wedged in their cheeks, they later wrote: “Home now & about to listen to the inspirational single 'The Climb' by The People's Choice Joe McElderry.”

Dave Grohl (1), The Prodigy (2), Stereophonics (3), Hadouken! and Enter Shikari are just some of the music acts who have pledged their support to Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name'.

As reported earlier, Joe McElderry is now hot favourite for the number one slot after Rage's odds were lengthened.
