Ronnie Wood, Slash, AC/DC Win Big At Classic Rock Roll Of Honour AwardsNovember 11, 2010
Ronnie Wood was amongst a handful of famous faces to pick up awards at last nights Classic Rock Roll Honour Awards in London.
The Rolling Stones guitarist Wood, collected an award on behalf of the band for their 1972 album "Exile on Main Street", even though he did not feature on the record. When receiving the award for reissue of the year Wood said: "I was just with Mick [Jagger] and Charlie [Watts] this afternoon and they said to say thanks a lot - and why weren't they invited?" He added: "And I said, 'Because you were on the album! There's no point to these awards if you were actually on it," reported BBC News. Other winners of the night included former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash for 'Album of the year' and AC/DC were named 'Band of the year'.
