Paul Weller's 'Wake Up The Nation' Wins Big At UNCUT Awards

November 30, 2010
Paul Weller's 'Wake Up The Nation' Wins Big At UNCUT AwardsPaul Weller won big at the Uncut Awards for his album ‘Wake Up The Nation’.

The singer picked up the Uncut Music Award 2010 beating competition from Gorillaz’s ‘Plastic Beach’ and Joanna Newsom’s ‘Have One On Me'.

Whilst accepting his award Weller said: "Thank you. I'm well surprised to get this award. Pleasantly surprised. A lot of the credit goes to Simon Dine (producer and co-writer on the album).

The album came from him, really. He had these very rough backing track ideas, which he sent me. Once I heard them, I got excited too. I could see a whole new sound emerging out of them."
