Spandau Ballet 'To Announce Comeback This Week'March 23, 2009
Spandau Ballet are to announce their comeback this week, according to reports.
The 80s five-piece have invited members of the media to HMS Belfast in London on Wednesday (March 25th). Spandau Ballet, who are famous for such hits as 'Gold' and 'True', split acrimoniously in 1989. Relations between the band members continued to sour during the nineties in a dispute over songwriting royalties. John Keeble, Tony Hadley and Steve Norman eventually lost a £1million High Court bid to claim a share of the royalties earned by guitarist and chief songwriter Gary Kemp. In an interview with The Sunday People over the weekend, Hadley announced that “the boys are back in town”. “It's going to be brilliant, we're very excited. But it will be very different to how we used to be,” he said. "Obviously there'll be all the hits, the nostalgia, but there will also be a new take on what Spandau Ballet are about.” Both Gary Kemp and his brother and band member, Martin, found fame in TV after the band's split.
