New Gnarls Barkley Video Fails Epilepsy TestMarch 5, 2008
The video for Gnarls Barkley’s new single, ‘Run’, has been withdrawn from MTV over fears that its strobe lightning could cause epileptic seizures.
The video, which features a cameo appearance Justin Timberlake, failed to meet guidelines set out by the Harding Test, which establishes whether images are likely to cause an epileptic fit. The video for ‘Run’ is set in the early 90s and sees Timberlake play the host of a fictional public access TV show. Speaking about the video, Danger Mouse told Billboard: "I don't know exactly what's going on, but we're having issues. I think (the video) is cool. “It works for me. But I'm not necessarily that easily seasick. We can't predict how people are going to interpret it." The single is the first song to be taken from Gnarls Barkley’s second album, ‘The Odd Couple’, which is released on April 7th.
