Courtney Love: 'I'm Not Changing My Name'

April 22, 2010
Courtney Love: 'I'm Not Changing My Name'Courtney Love has no plans to change her name, her spokesperson has said.

In a recent interview with the NME, Love was quoted a saying that she planned to revert back to her birthname - Courtney Michelle - because she no longer liked her stage alias.

However, her spokesperson said the comments had been taken “100 percent out of context”.

"She's not changing her name, unless it's to 'Courtney Love Mellencamp' or 'Big Baby Jesus’,” the spokesperon added.

In the interview, Love also apparently claimed that she was “sick” of being asked about her widow and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

The Hole singer, who married Cobain in 1992, said it was unfair to expect her to be able to answer questions about the late singer.

Love is due to return to the UK next month for a series of live dates with Hole in support of their new album ‘Nobody’s Daughter’.
