The Libertines To Play London Gig On August 25August 10, 2010
The Libertines have confirmed plans to play a warm-up gig ahead of their appearance at this month's Reading and Leeds festivals.
The band will perform at the Forum in London on August 25. Tickets will be available via ballot for fans who register on Thelibertines.com. Registration closes at 6pm on August 13. Winners will be randomly selected on Monday (August 16) and sent a unique passcode and link to buy tickets. Singer and guitarist Carl Barat said recently that the group hadn't rehearsed since they announced their reunion in March. The Libertines have reformed in their original line-up of Barat, singer Pete Doherty, John Hassell and Gary Poweel. They staged a three-night residency at the Forum in December 2003. The band will join headliners Arcade Fire, Guns N' Roses and Blink-182 at Reading and Leeds next month. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Carl Barat Speaks About Future Of The Libertines (27.04.2011)
